EPOKA University will strategically promote, support and extend its internationalization initiatives in order to accomplish the growth, diversification and enhancement of the experiences of the University community and of its staff and students.
ON INTERNATIONALIZATION STRATEGY
EPOKA University has developed a comprehensive internationalization strategy, drafted in line with the University’s current overall strategy of increasing the profile, visibility and brand of EPOKA University nationally and internationally. The strategic plan includes actions and activities in the areas of institutional branding, outbound and inbound mobility, research collaboration, and curriculum and campus initiatives, which are aimed at accomplishing the growth, diversification and enhancement of the University.
EPOKA University as an institution of higher education fully complies with the requirements of the Bologna Process while the language of instruction of its study programs is almost entirely in English. In 2024, 42% of EPOKA’s full-time academic staff and 2% of its students were international. Furthermore, EPOKA University has been active in promoting staff and student exchange programs through Erasmus+, engaging in research collaboration with foreign universities through Horizon 2020, and capacity building through the TEMPUS program. EPOKA University is also an associate member of the European Universities Association (EUA), a signatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum, a member of the United Nations-supported Principles of Responsible Management Education and a participant in the Yunus Centre in Dhaka.
The University’s internationalization efforts are led by the Rector`s Office and supported by the International Relations Office. The intensification of EPOKA University’s internationalization process is in accordance with the strategic priorities set by the Strategic Plan 2024-2028 and takes place in consultation with the faculties, departments and research centers of the University. The internationalization effort aims to promote the University’s global brand and raise its profile as it seeks to become the leading internationally oriented University within the Western Balkans by way of a variety of purposive and strategic activities.
Among these activities are focusing on creating stronger, more meaningful, and more active strategic partnerships with leading international academic institutions and other networks and organizations. The University will develop new international cooperation agreements with top universities, support an increase in outbound and inbound mobility opportunities for staff and students, increase international research and scholarship, develop new opportunities for external funding for research and other related projects, further internationalize the curriculum and the campus, and create and develop new joint and double degree programs.
